Major brownfield site indicator dropped
Post Date: 01 June 2010
This indicator - which measures the proportion of the area of developed land that is vacant or derelict for more than five years - was removed from the National Indicator Set with effect from 1st April 2010.
Called NI 170 its purpose was to gauge the success of local authorities in facilitating the re-use of brown field land as a contribution to regeneration and economic growth.
This indicator has been included in the National Land Use Database of Previously-Developed Land (NLUD-PDL) which contains a typology of previously developed land covering different categories.
